KEPALA BATAS, Malaysia: Bumiputera business professionals have been urged to produce more halal food products to meet the needs of Muslims and also help fuel the country’s economy.
The chairman of the committee for the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs and cooperatives Penang, Mr. Muhamad Farid said, small-medium enterprises can help in this regard with the assistance of joint ventures.
“Halal products can also play a major role in the increased income of business owners and provide users with a wider choice of halal products,” he was telling the news reporters after officiating the Penang Bumiputera Entrepreneurs (PenBEX) Mini Carnival 2015 at Vision Park, Bertram. Organized by the Kunang, the event is an initial step to the PenBEX from 30th May to June 7, 2015.
Muhamad Farid said about 70 business owners were under the patronage of Kunang and some of their products were being marketed at three branches of the Aeon Big supermarket at Bukit Minyak, Seberang Jaya, and Alor Setar, Kedah.
He also added, “This is a good accomplishment and a big shopping plaza in North Seberang Perai will be revived to enable products of members to be marketed more methodically.”These facilities will also be made the first step for them to increase their business and improve the production of local products.”
