The Halal Times staff would like to extend our heartiest Eid greetings to Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world.
According to our understanding, Eid-ul-Fitr is being held on Sunday, May 24 in most countries. However, there are some places in Canada and a few others where today was the Eid day.
According to many people around the world, this could be the saddest Eid in their lifetimes as they have been suffering from pain and agony due to the loss of their loved ones as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic or any other reason. Last Friday, a plane crashed in Karachi, Pakistan, killing 97 while injuring 2 people. Especially, this coronavirus is killing our communities, our loved ones, our friends, our family members, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, and so many others in different parts of the world. It is also destroying various economies all over the world. Millions of people are unemployed now.
But, being Muslims, we have to submit to the will of Allah. We should know full well that we all belong to Allah and we have to return to Him sooner or later.
So, let us take a few moments to pray for the ones who departed this world due to the pandemic or any other reason. We also need to make sure that people around us, the ones who do not have the financial means to celebrate their Eid properly, do get the necessary financial resources to spend their Eid days happily without having to worry about the food they have to put on their table, especially on this day.
