EU trade body EUCOLAIT criticizes Egypt’s revised Halal certification requirements. In response to the action taken for a Halal certification requirement for exports to Egypt, the country had designated IS EG Halal Global as its sole representative. The company was incorporated on the NZ Companies Register on September 10 and registered in the US. According to the new regulations, the company will handle all dairy imports to Egypt.
Eucolait, the European association representing dairy trade sent a letter to the Head of Agriculture, Food and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Matters Directorate-General for Trade, European Commission to resolve the confusion which has been created due to the recently revised regulations.
