KARACHI: Ismail Industries Limited, a prominent Pakistani food manufacturer and exporter has unveiled plans to establish a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This strategic initiative, pending regulatory approvals, aims to expand the company’s market reach and enhance operational efficiency amid Pakistan’s ongoing economic challenges. By setting up in Abu Dhabi, Ismail Industries seeks to leverage the UAE’s business-friendly environment to boost its international presence and streamline production and distribution processes.

Pakistani Food Manufacturer Expanding Horizons

Pakistani businesses have long faced issues like power shortages, water scarcity, and deteriorating law and order, particularly in commercial hubs like Karachi. These challenges, coupled with economic instability and a new tax-heavy finance bill projecting an annual inflation rate of up to 13.5%, have prompted companies to seek more stable operational bases abroad.

Strategic Move to Abu Dhabi

Ismail Industries’ Board of Directors has resolved to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Abu Dhabi. This new entity will handle the manufacturing, marketing, sales, and distribution of various food products, including biscuits and confectionery. The company has informed its shareholders through a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, stating that the necessary regulatory approvals will be sought before proceeding with the incorporation process (Business Recorder).

Diverse Product Range

Ismail Industries boasts a diverse portfolio, including brands like Bisconni, CandyLand, SnackCity, and Astro Films. They produce a wide array of products such as confectionery, biscuits, chips, flour, and packaging materials. The company is ISO 22000 certified for food safety and also holds certification from the South African National Halal Authority (SANHA), emphasizing its commitment to high standards and halal compliance.

Market Position and Future Prospects

The establishment of the UAE subsidiary is expected to enhance Ismail Industries’ operational efficiency and market penetration. The UAE offers a business-friendly environment and strategic location, making it an ideal hub for expanding into global markets. This move aligns with the company’s goal to increase its international footprint and tap into new market opportunities.

Ismail Industries’ decision to establish a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi showcases a strategic response to the economic challenges in Pakistan and a proactive approach to global market expansion. This move highlights the company’s commitment to growth and resilience by leveraging international opportunities. By setting up operations in the UAE, Ismail Industries aims to strengthen its position as a leading Pakistani food manufacturer, ensuring long-term success and enhanced market reach in a stable business environment. This strategic initiative underscores their dedication to innovation and market adaptability, paving the way for a robust international presence.
