5 Healthy Halal Meals- Every Muslim Should Add to Diet

2022-10-24 by Shahar Bano

One of the most acceptable methods of living as a Muslim is in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah. Most obviously, a Muslim must eat Halal food, which is defined as food that is permitted to be consumed under Sharia Law. However, you may not be aware that there are some especially suggested foods that are also quite beneficial.

Maintaining one’s mental and physical health is a religious obligation for Muslims. In fact, the Quran recommends that the Prophet SAW regularly eat these Sunnah meals. The Sunnah foods we’ve listed here have physical and spiritual benefits, so give them a try if you’re trying to eat better.

1. Dates

Perhaps you aren’t too surprised to learn that dates are Sunnah food. Dates, a staple of the Muslim diet, especially during Ramadan, are rich in numerous vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. The Prophet SAW would often personally plant date trees due to their high nutritional value.

Dates are highly nutritious, with potassium, calcium, vitamin A, and many other nutrients while being low in fat. They have no cholesterol, too! The Prophet SAW and his followers regularly ate dates, and Muslims today are urged to follow their example.

2. Watermelon

Watermelon is a refreshing fruit that is popular in warmer climates. However, many Muslims are unaware that watermelon is a Sunnah food with numerous health benefits.

Aside from easing discomfort, it also strengthens the immune system, stops acid reflux, and stops the formation of kidney stones. In addition to its many other benefits, watermelon can help keep your eyes and skin healthy. Friends of the Prophet SAW said he enjoyed eating watermelon with ripe dates.

3. Bananas

Bananas are specifically mentioned, along with other fruits, as being among the wonderful fruits that will be enjoyed by those in paradise. The potassium and vitamin B6 in bananas make them a healthy choice for breakfast or a morning snack. Bananas can be frozen to use as a basis for ice cream and other frozen treats.

4. Barley

Soaked barley is a common home remedy for coughs and sore throats. Barley’s anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants make it a popular recommendation for treating fever and other “temperament” disorders.

It also helps with digestion, lowering cholesterol, and stabilizing blood sugar. Barley can also help Muslims reduce their risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease.

5. Milk

Milk is one of those foods that you’ll find in just about anyone’s fridge. It is a fantastic dietary supplement because it contains numerous beneficial minerals like calcium, protein, potassium, and others. The high nutrient density of this food helps strengthen bones and teeth, restore damaged muscular tissue, and keep your red blood cell count up.

All of the meals we’ve discussed so far are excellent choices for maintaining and improving Muslim’s health. Consuming this blessed Sunnah food is the best approach to improving your diet every day. The nicest part is that they can be purchased at virtually any grocery store. Perhaps a few have already made it to your shelves. It’s true that having a strong physique is a great way to complement your mental and religious well-being.
