AS Holding Group, Bosnia Expands Halal Product Portfolio

2023-07-14 by Nermin Hadzic

AS Holding Group, a major player in the Bosnian food industry, has a wide portfolio of halal-certified products and affiliated companies. To date, it has obtained halal certification for eight companies, which together account for about one-fifth of the halal products available on the Bosnian market daily. This achievement is a testament to the group’s commitment to catering to diverse dietary preferences and religious beliefs.

Mlin I Pekara doo Tuzla, located in Ljubače, Bosnia is the latest addition to the AS Holding Group’s halal-certified companies. The halal certification process, which adheres to rigorous halal standards, scrutinizes every stage of the production process. The processes evaluated include the production of milling products, a wide array of fresh and frozen bakery goods, pies, confectionery items, and even animal feed. As a result of the successful certification, 188 new halal products have been introduced to the market, broadening the choices for consumers who adhere to a halal diet in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.

The Bosnian halal industry has been enriched with the addition of Mlin I Pekar Ljubača, a producer dedicated to expanding the range of halal products available in the local market. These are not just any food products, but staples that have found a place in daily household consumption, and are now more readily available for halal consumers at numerous retail outlets.

Dr. Damir Alihodzic, Director of the Agency overseeing the certification, believes that the halal certification will bolster the company’s market value and meet consumer expectations. He expressed his conviction about the potential benefits, stating that he anticipates the certificate will provide a competitive edge to the company and resonate positively with consumers.

Jasmin Sadadinović, the director of Mlin I Pekara Ljubače, expressed his pride and satisfaction about achieving this significant milestone. He underscored that the certification is not just a business accomplishment, but also a statement to their customers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as those in international markets. It serves as a testament to their commitment to considering their customers’ needs and prioritizing food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

He further underlined their goal to establish a modern and sophisticated business process management system. Such a system would be based on risk recognition and alignment with the principles and requirements of relevant international standards in the food industry. By maintaining compliance with the norms of HACCP, ISO 9001, NON-GMO, and HALAL standards, Mlin I Pekara Ljubače aims to provide their customers with an added assurance of the consistent quality and safety of their products.

In conclusion, the halal certification of Mlin I Pekara Ljubače is a significant achievement for the company and the Bosnian halal industry. It is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The company is also committed to maintaining compliance with the highest international standards, which will ensure that its products continue to meet the needs of its customers.
