Baku, Azerbaijan – On October 7–8, 2025, Baku will cement its role as a pivotal center for global economic collaboration by hosting the second Azerbaijan Halal Business (AZHAB) Forum. Organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, this landmark event will convene under the theme “Halal Industry as a Source of Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World.” The Forum aims to drive transformative partnerships, foster innovative exchanges, and position Azerbaijan as a magnet for foreign direct investment in the burgeoning halal sector.
A Global Convergence for Collaboration and Growth
The AZHAB Forum 2025 will bring together a distinguished cohort of participants, including senior government officials, industry pioneers, academic scholars, entrepreneurs, and representatives from international organizations. This diverse gathering will facilitate high-level discussions on the halal industry’s role in fostering economic resilience, sustainability, and global trade. By bridging traditional and emerging sectors, the Forum will explore new opportunities in finance, tourism, food production, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and business management, with a special focus on the green transition and women’s empowerment in entrepreneurship.
The Forum’s two-day agenda comprises a dynamic conference and an expansive exhibition. The conference will feature expert-led panels addressing critical topics such as halal certification standards, market access strategies, and the integration of sustainable practices in halal business models. A historic highlight will be the inaugural session of the “OIC-SME Network,” an initiative under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) designed to enhance collaboration among institutions supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across OIC member states. This network will serve as a catalyst for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and economic cooperation on a global scale.
The exhibition component will showcase an extensive array of halal products and services from Azerbaijan and international companies. Building on the success of the 2024 Forum, which featured nearly 30 exhibitors, the 2025 edition is anticipated to be significantly larger, with participation from a broader range of countries. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to connect with a global audience, forge strategic partnerships, explore export markets, and gain insights into cutting-edge innovations, trends, and standards in the halal industry. Local and international companies are invited to register now at azhabforum.az to secure their place in this high-visibility platform.
Empowering Businesses Through Knowledge and Expertise
A cornerstone of AZHAB Forum 2025 is a two-day seminar, “Think Halal: What Every Business Should Know,” organized by the Islamic Chamber Halal Services. This immersive program will provide business leaders from diverse sectors with comprehensive insights into halal business models, compliance with international halal standards, and strategies for penetrating global markets. Participants will gain practical knowledge on navigating the complexities of halal certification and leveraging opportunities in high-growth markets. Additionally, the Forum’s Expert Corner will offer personalized consulting services, enabling businesses to address specific challenges and obtain tailored guidance on halal certification processes.
The Forum will also highlight the role of technology and innovation in the halal industry, with discussions on digital tools for supply chain transparency, blockchain for certification traceability, and sustainable practices that align with global environmental goals. These sessions aim to equip businesses with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive and interconnected global economy.
AZHAB Forum 2025 is organized in collaboration with leading international partners, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the Islamic Chamber Halal Services, and Caspian Event Organisers LLC. ATENA LLC serves as the event’s official sponsor, underscoring the private sector’s commitment to advancing Azerbaijan’s role in the global halal economy.
The inaugural AZHAB Forum in October 2024 set a strong precedent, attracting approximately 350 attendees, including 100 international participants from regions such as Australia, the United States, Eurasia, and Africa. Endorsed by a resolution from the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, the event established itself as a premier platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration in the halal industry. The 2025 Forum is expected to build on this legacy, offering even greater opportunities for networking, innovation, and economic growth.
Azerbaijan’s Vision for a Resilient Halal Economy
As the global halal market continues to expand—projected to reach a value of over $2 trillion by 2028—AZHAB Forum 2025 positions Azerbaijan at the forefront of this dynamic sector. By fostering cross-border partnerships, promoting sustainable business practices, and showcasing innovative products and services, the Forum will drive economic resilience and global competitiveness. Azerbaijan’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and commitment to economic diversification make it an ideal host for this transformative event.
