Emirates Islamic Wins Top Honors at Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards 2025
2025-06-19 by Laiba Adnan

On June 17, 2025, Emirates Islamic, one of the UAE’s leading Islamic financial institutions, was celebrated at the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards 2025, held in Dubai on May 20, 2025. The bank secured three prestigious accolades: ‘The World’s Best Islamic Digital Bank’, ‘The Middle East’s Best Islamic Digital Bank’, and ‘The UAE’s Best Islamic Digital Bank’. These awards underscore Emirates Islamic’s global leadership in delivering innovative, Sharia-compliant digital banking solutions.

The recognition highlights the success of the bank’s EI+ Mobile Banking App, which serves over 500,000 registered users, with 90% of eligible customers utilizing online or mobile banking platforms. In 2024, the app facilitated over 18 million transactions, averaging 4 million monthly logins, reflecting its intuitive interface and robust features, including seamless fund transfers, bill payments, and investment services. Emirates Islamic also introduced cutting-edge digital offerings, such as AI-driven financial planning tools and enhanced cybersecurity measures, ensuring a secure and personalized banking experience.

Farid AlMulla, CEO of Emirates Islamic, attributed the bank’s success to its unwavering commitment to customer-centric innovation and adherence to Islamic finance principles. He emphasized that these awards validate the bank’s strategic focus on digital transformation, which aligns with the UAE’s vision to be a global hub for Islamic finance. The bank’s achievements also reflect its broader contributions to the Islamic banking sector, including the issuance of Sukuk (Islamic bonds) and the expansion of Takaful (Islamic insurance) products.

The Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards, a benchmark for excellence in the industry, recognize institutions that demonstrate innovation, growth, and impact. Emirates Islamic’s triple win cements its position as a trailblazer, setting new standards for digital banking within the global Islamic finance market, valued at over USD 4 trillion.
