ICCD Hosts Halal Fashion Conference 2025 in Pakistan, Highlighting Global Fashion
2025-09-29 by Laiba Adnan

Karachi, Pakistan — September 25, 2025: The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) hosted the Halal Fashion Conference 2025 at its headquarters in Karachi. The event was organized in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and supported by Al Baraka Bank Pakistan. The conference brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, designers, and thought leaders to explore the vast opportunities in halal and modest fashion, positioning Pakistan as a growing hub in this rapidly expanding global sector.

A Global Industry on the Rise

The halal fashion industry is now recognized as one of the fastest-growing segments within the wider halal economy. Valued in the hundreds of billions of dollars, this sector caters not only to Muslim consumers but also to global audiences seeking sustainable, ethical, and modest clothing options. The conference highlighted how halal fashion is evolving into a global movement that blends faith, culture, and commerce, making it a strategic avenue for economic growth.

The theme of the Halal Fashion Conference 2025 was “Ethical, Faith-Driven, Inclusive and Sustainable.” Sessions focused on how these values could be translated into practical strategies for design, production, and distribution. Industry leaders emphasized that halal fashion goes beyond modest attire, representing a holistic approach where authenticity, cultural identity, and sustainability play key roles. The conference also addressed the need for clear standards and halal certification to ensure credibility in international markets.

Pakistan’s Competitive Edge

Speakers underscored that Pakistan’s strong textile industry, combined with its cultural diversity and creative talent, provides the country with a unique competitive edge. From cotton production to textile manufacturing, Pakistan already has the infrastructure to support large-scale fashion exports. By aligning this strength with global halal and modest fashion requirements, Pakistan has the potential to increase its share in international markets while also boosting its domestic industry.

In his keynote address, H.E. Yousef Khalawi, Secretary General of ICCD, highlighted the global importance of halal fashion. He explained that halal fashion represents an intersection of values and commerce, extending beyond traditional modest wear to foster innovation and open new opportunities for investment. He emphasized that the industry has the capacity to unite cultures and faiths while advancing ethical consumerism on a global scale.

The collaboration between ICCD, FPCCI, and Al Baraka Bank Pakistan was noted as a significant step toward strengthening institutional support for the industry. By bringing together stakeholders from across the fashion value chain, the conference created a platform for dialogue on how to improve Pakistan’s market readiness, enhance export potential, and encourage partnerships with international players.

One of the strongest outcomes of the conference was the emphasis on sustainability. Experts discussed how Pakistan’s fashion industry could adopt greener production methods, reduce waste, and ensure ethical sourcing of raw materials. There was also a strong call to integrate inclusivity in design, making halal fashion appealing to a wider, more diverse consumer base.

The Halal Fashion Conference 2025 reinforced Pakistan’s growing commitment to becoming a leader in the global halal fashion industry. With the country’s rich textile heritage and increasing focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical practices, the event marked an important milestone in building Pakistan’s reputation as a contributor to the global halal economy.
