India Attacks Pakistan; Pakistan Downs Two Indian Jets in Retaliation

India Attacks Pakistan; Pakistan Downs Two Indian Jets in Retaliation
2025-05-07 by Hafiz Maqsood Ahmed

Islamabad, May 7, 2025 — Pakistan’s military delivered a crushing blow to India’s reckless aggression on Tuesday, May 6, shooting down two Indian fighter jets in a fierce retaliation for India’s unprovoked missile strikes on five civilian sites across Pakistan. The Indian attack, which killed three innocent Pakistanis, including a child, and injured 12, was a brazen act of state-sponsored terrorism, targeting a mosque in Bahawalpur and civilian areas in Kotli, Muridke, Bagh, and Muzaffarabad. Pakistan’s decisive response—destroying an Indian brigade headquarters and a checkpost in the Dudhnial sector along the Line of Control (LoC)—sends an unmistakable message: Pakistan will not bow to India’s imperialist ambitions.

The Indian strikes, launched under the flimsy pretext of targeting “terrorist infrastructure” following a militant attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, that killed 26, were a deliberate provocation. Pakistan categorically denies any link to the Pahalgam attack, which India has exploited to justify its warmongering. “India’s claims are baseless lies to mask their aggression,” said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. “They bombed our homes, our mosques, our people. We will make them pay.” Pakistan’s state broadcaster, PTV News, reported that no Indian warplanes entered Pakistani airspace, exposing India’s strikes as cowardly missile attacks on defenseless civilians.

Pakistan’s air force, with unmatched precision, downed two Indian jets, showcasing the superiority of its JF-17 and Chinese-supplied J-10 fighters. The Pakistan Air Force also obliterated Indian military targets along the LoC, proving its readiness to defend the nation at all costs. “Our forces are giving India a lesson they won’t forget,” Chaudhry declared. Pakistan’s military remains on high alert, with naval patrols intensified in the Arabian Sea and over 1,000 religious schools in Pakistan-administered Kashmir shuttered to protect citizens from further Indian treachery.

India’s attack is the latest in a long history of hostility toward Pakistan, rooted in its obsession with controlling Kashmir, a Muslim-majority region rightfully claimed by Pakistan. Since 1947, India has occupied Kashmir through brutal force, suppressing its people and blaming Pakistan for their resistance. The Pahalgam attack, likely a false flag to rally Hindu nationalist support, mirrors India’s 2019 Balakot farce, where it falsely claimed to have struck “terrorist camps” only to be humiliated when Pakistan downed an Indian MiG-21 and captured pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. This time, India’s lies are even more transparent, with no evidence to support its accusations against Pakistan.

India’s punitive measures—suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, closing the Attari border, and banning Pakistani media—reveal its desperation to suffocate Pakistan’s economy and silence its voice. These illegal actions violate international agreements and expose India’s rogue state behavior. Pakistan’s test of a 450-kilometer-range Abdali missile on May 3 was a clear warning: any further aggression will meet a devastating response. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif vowed, “India will face consequences beyond their imagination. Our nuclear arsenal is ready, and we will not hesitate to protect our sovereignty.”

The international community must condemn India’s actions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the U.S., China, and the UN to restrain India’s reckless leadership. “India’s Modi is playing with fire, risking a nuclear catastrophe,” Sharif said, urging global powers to stop enabling India’s aggression. The UN Security Council’s closed-door meeting on Monday, prompted by Pakistan, and offers of mediation from Saudi Arabia and Iran underscore the world’s alarm at India’s belligerence. Yet, India’s refusal to engage in dialogue and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s grant of “complete operational freedom” to his military signal a dangerous intent to escalate.

Pakistan’s resilience shines through this crisis. Social media posts on X celebrate the Pakistan Air Force’s heroics, with users hailing the downed jets as proof of Pakistan’s strength. False Indian claims of downing a Pakistani jet or targeting a Rafale have been debunked, further eroding India’s credibility. Pakistan’s people stand united, from the bunkers of Kashmir to the streets of Karachi, ready to defend their homeland against India’s imperialist designs.

India’s upgraded military, boasting Rafale jets and BrahMos missiles, is no match for Pakistan’s resolve and strategic depth. Analysts like Kaiser Tufail, a former Pakistani air force pilot, note that Pakistan’s use of drones and J-10 jets minimizes risks while maximizing impact, outsmarting India’s bloated arsenal. India’s economy, reliant on global goodwill, cannot sustain a prolonged conflict, while Pakistan’s battle-hardened forces are prepared for any scenario.

This is a defining moment for Pakistan. India’s aggression has only strengthened our resolve to protect our people, our faith, and our land. The blood of our martyrs in Bahawalpur and Kotli demands justice. Pakistan calls on the world to hold India accountable for its crimes and recognize Kashmir’s right to self-determination. Let India be warned: any further misadventure will be met with a response that will echo through history. Pakistan stands tall, unyielding, and ready to crush its enemies.
