NEC’s Halal Food Fest: Culinary Stars, Influencers & Delights

NEC Welcomes Halal Food Festival: Top Chefs, Influencers & Delectable Cuisine
2023-04-08 by Hafiz M. Ahmed

After a month of fasting during Ramadan, Birmingham’s Muslim community and food enthusiasts from all backgrounds can look forward to indulging in a diverse array of Halal dishes at the Halal Food Festival 2023. This culinary extravaganza is expected to attract around 35,000 visitors to the NEC this May. Previously held in Leicester and Manchester, the festival has become a popular and inclusive event for everyone who appreciates good food.

In recent years, the Halal food market has experienced significant growth, with over 20,000 eager attendees visiting the festival last year. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, featuring a variety of traders such as Iso Sushi Wok & Grill, Malaysian Street Food, The Cocktail Lab, Filthy Wings, and Cleopatra’s Kitchen.

Not only can you savor mouth-watering dishes, but you can also learn from skilled chefs during live cooking demonstrations, with tickets starting at just £10. The festival has been thoughtfully curated to offer a comprehensive experience beyond just food.

Several new attractions have been added to this year’s lineup, including the ‘Muslim Lifestyle Experience,’ which provides an insight into various aspects of Muslim life. Fashion enthusiasts will enjoy ‘Fashion Avenue,’ hosted by iStyle Events, showcasing modest fashion and beauty in the indoor arena. Additionally, the Artisan Market will feature arts, crafts, and style, offering a platform for aspiring businesses to showcase their creativity and unique products.

The concept of the Halal Food Festival was born from the vision of young British Muslims who wanted to create an event that celebrates their rich culture. It also serves as a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs within the Halal and Muslim industries to connect with their target audience and expand their businesses.

The organizers emphasize that the festival is open to everyone, regardless of their cultural background. Bilal Khan, CEO of The Halal Family Group, expressed his excitement about bringing the event to the Midlands: “The aim is to bring Halal cuisines from across the globe together for a weekend of live entertainment and special guest appearances. We are looking to showcase Halal cuisines from all across the globe including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and from Turkey and the Western region too.”

Guests can expect a bustling atmosphere filled with street food vendors, special guest chefs, influencers, live cooking demonstrations, and entertainment for all ages. This large-scale event is a fantastic opportunity for the Muslim community to invite friends and family to share their lifestyles and heritage through delectable food and lively entertainment.
