Rhenus Indonesia is proud to announce its official certification as a Halal Logistics Provider, effective immediately. This significant achievement bolsters Rhenus Indonesia’s capability to ensure safety and reliability across the entire supply chain for transporting halal products, a sector experiencing rapidly increasing global demand.
The global halal market is projected for substantial growth, with its value expected to exceed $5 trillion by 2030. In Indonesia, the Halal Product Assurance Agency, operating under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has made halal certification mandatory for all food products within the country, a requirement that will extend to imported foods by 2026. This growing regulatory framework underscores the critical need for certified halal logistics.
This new certification represents the latest third-party endorsement and standard attained by Rhenus for its Indonesian operations. It complements existing certifications such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, IATA License/Certification, NVOCC license, and IMDG. With this crucial certification, Rhenus Indonesia anticipates approximately 15% growth in handling halal commodities for halal-compliant industries this year.
Fabian Kieble, Managing Director of Rhenus Indonesia, commented, “As one of the few logistics providers who have received this certificate, Rhenus Indonesia is now in a better position to align our operations with the needs of the economy in the country. We will continue to grow and improve our business by offering the highest standard in service and tailor-made solutions for different industries. This is a great success and achievement made by the team here in Indonesia for our customers.”
With six offices strategically located across Indonesia, Rhenus provides a full suite of logistics services to a diverse range of industries, including the automotive, life sciences and healthcare, technology, industrial, and consumer sectors. This new halal certification further strengthens Rhenus’s position as a comprehensive and compliant logistics partner in the Indonesian market and beyond.
