Saudi Halal Market
2023-06-19 by Hafiz M. Ahmed

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Step into the vibrant realm of the Saudi Halal Market, where a multitude of halal products await to tantalize your taste buds and immerse you in the richness of Islamic culture. The Halal Products Development Company (HPDC) has embarked on a groundbreaking partnership with Tanmiah Food Company in a bid to catapult Saudi Arabia’s halal industry onto the global stage. This alliance, seen as a keystone development, is aimed at nurturing the domestic halal products ecosystem and connecting it to the voracious global markets.

HPDC, which operates under the auspices of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has set its sights on fortifying and indigenizing the halal products sector in Saudi Arabia. Concurrently, it seeks to elevate the stature of this sector within both the regional and global landscape.

Central to this partnership is the activation of HPDC’s suite of consulting services, geared to deliver holistic value across a diverse spectrum. These services encompass facilitating halal certifications, ensuring compliance with halal standards both domestically and internationally, and rendering bespoke support within the halal market, amongst an array of other pivotal solutions.

The landmark agreement was signed in the August presence of His Excellency Mr. Amr Al-Dabbagh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tanmiah Food Company. The signatories to this pact were Mr. Fahad Al-Nuhait, Chief Executive Officer of HPDC, and Mr. Ahmad Osilan, Executive Board Member and Managing Director of Tanmiah Food Company.

Mr. Al-Nuhait underscored that this collaboration is an organic extension of HPDC’s unflagging commitment to cultivating the Saudi halal products ecosystem. He illuminated that this partnership, buttressed by the engagement of stakeholders from both private and public sectors, is aimed at linking the Saudi halal industry with markets where demand is soaring.

Positioned as a potent support mechanism and national asset, HPDC offers a wealth of services, insights, and solutions to Saudi enterprises. These offerings are geared to empower them to fully exploit the burgeoning opportunities in the halal market, both within the Kingdom and abroad.

Mr. Osilan, in his remarks, highlighted the pivotal nature of this partnership and shared his ambitions for Tanmiah to leverage HPDC’s consulting services. He acknowledged the role of HPDC as a catalyst in augmenting the competitiveness of the Saudi halal ecosystem regionally and globally. Further, he opined that this strategic move dovetails seamlessly with Tanmiah’s operational objectives and is congruent with HPDC’s mission to bolster Saudi Arabia’s food security as enshrined in Saudi Vision 2030.

This partnership is poised to harness state-of-the-art advisory and technical solutions, solidifying the Kingdom’s positioning as a preeminent player in the global halal products arena.
