Qatar Gears Up for Eid Al Adha with 710 Prayer Locations

Awqaf Ministry Readies 710 Mosques & Prayer Areas for Eid Al Adha
2025-06-06 by Laiba Adnan

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Qatar has announced extensive and meticulous preparations for the upcoming Eid Al Adha prayers, ensuring a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for all citizens and residents. A remarkable 710 prayer areas and mosques across the country are now fully prepared and equipped to welcome worshippers for this blessed occasion.

For the year 1446 on the Hijri calendar, the Eid Al Adha prayer is scheduled to begin promptly at 4:58 AM. To ensure a comfortable and focused prayer experience, the Ministry strongly encourages worshippers to arrive early. This proactive measure will help manage the anticipated large congregations, facilitate orderly entry, and allow individuals to secure a suitable spot well before the prayer commences.

This widespread readiness highlights the Ministry’s profound commitment to facilitating easy and equitable access to prayer facilities for everyone. They have undertaken comprehensive planning and meticulous steps to ensure these numerous mosques and designated praying areas are strategically distributed across the broadest possible geographic footprint. This means that vital prayer locations, which include both large central mosques and specially designated open-air prayer grounds (Musallas), are conveniently situated near all communities and regions throughout Qatar. This strategic distribution significantly eases access, minimizing travel times and logistical burdens for worshippers from every corner of the state. The ultimate goal is to make the sacred Eid prayer as accessible, convenient, and hassle-free as possible, allowing individuals and families from every corner of the country to participate in this blessed occasion with utmost peace of mind and spiritual focus.

Beyond the sheer number of locations, the Ministry’s comprehensive planning includes a focus on enhancing the worshipper experience. Each designated prayer area is equipped with necessary facilities, including readily accessible ablution areas and clear signage to guide worshippers. Furthermore, efforts have been made to ensure accessibility for individuals with disabilities, allowing everyone to partake in the congregational prayer. Dedicated sections for women have also been established in all major prayer locations to ensure comfort and privacy. The Ministry also coordinates with relevant authorities on traffic management and parking around major prayer sites to facilitate smooth access and departure for thousands of vehicles. This comprehensive effort underscores their dedication to supporting the spiritual needs of Qatar’s diverse population during one of the most significant Islamic holidays, reaffirming the profound communal and spiritual significance of Eid Al Adha.
