BPJPH Urges Lampung Businesses to Get Halal Certified

BPJPH Urges Lampung Businesses to Get Halal Certified
2025-08-07 by Laiba Adnan

Lampung, August 2025 – The Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency, known as BPJPH, is encouraging businesses in Lampung to get halal certification. This includes small food and drink sellers, home-based businesses, and local producers. The goal is to help more local products meet halal standards and reach bigger markets, both inside and outside Indonesia.

This call is part of a larger plan. By October 2026, all food and beverage products sold in Indonesia must be halal certified. BPJPH wants to make sure that Lampung is ready ahead of time.

Helping Small Businesses Grow

BPJPH head Ahmad Haikal Hasan recently visited Bandar Lampung and met with business owners and community leaders. He shared the success story of a small home business in Surabaya. After getting halal certified, the business started exporting its products overseas.

He explained that halal certification helps build customer trust, improves product quality, and increases sales opportunities. When customers see the halal logo, they feel confident that the product is safe and clean.

Free Certification for Lampung

To support this goal, BPJPH is offering free halal certification through its Sehati program. In 2025, 18,000 free slots have been given to Lampung province. This gives local business owners a great chance to get certified without any cost.

This free certification is for micro and small businesses that make food, drinks, snacks, and other simple products. BPJPH has also made the process easier and faster than before.

In the past, getting halal certification could take up to three months. Now, under the free program, it can be done in 21 working days.

Support from Local Government

The Mayor of Bandar Lampung, Eva Dwiana, said the city fully supports BPJPH’s efforts. She asked local officials to help small businesses register for certification. She said that all food and drink sellers in Lampung should be halal certified before the 2026 deadline.

The local government is also helping with training, data collection, and community education. Their goal is to make Lampung one of the most halal-ready regions in the country.

National Halal Campaign Reaches Lampung

This move is part of BPJPH’s Halal-20 Roadshow. This roadshow is visiting different regions across Indonesia to raise awareness about halal rules. It helps business owners understand the benefits of certification and how to apply.

In Lampung, the roadshow is working with local halal partners, known as LP3H and P3H. These partners help guide business owners through the halal process, from paperwork to inspection.

BPJPH wants to show that Lampung can be a model for other provinces. With the right support, small businesses in Lampung can grow and compete in larger markets.

Why Halal Certification Matters

Getting halal certification offers many benefits for small business owners:

  • Builds customer trust: People feel safe buying certified products.

  • Improves product quality: Certification checks make sure food is clean and safe.

  • Helps enter new markets: Many stores and export markets prefer or require halal products.

  • Meets legal rules: Starting in 2026, it will be the law for food and drink to be halal certified.

  • Increases profits: Certified products often sell better and at higher prices.

Easy Steps to Get Halal Certified

BPJPH has made the process simple, especially for small businesses. Here’s how it works:

  1. Register at your local village or city office.

  2. Get help from halal partners (LP3H or P3H).

  3. Apply through the Sehati program for free certification.

  4. Wait for your products to be checked.

  5. Get certified and show the halal logo on your products.

There are many halal support teams in Lampung who are ready to help. These include local universities, religious groups, and government workers. They can assist with forms, training, and answering questions.

Strong Local Partnerships

Lampung is also home to a recognized Halal Inspection Agency. This agency checks small business products to make sure they follow halal rules. This local support makes it easier for business owners to complete the process without needing to travel far.

In addition, halal assistants are trained to guide people step by step. Many of them are part of the community and speak the local language, which helps make the process smoother.

Lampung’s Future in the Halal Industry

With so many free slots and strong local help, Lampung is expected to become a major halal region in Indonesia. More certified businesses mean better product quality, stronger customer trust, and more chances for export.

This move will not only help businesses but also make food safer for local buyers. Shoppers will be able to trust that the items they buy are truly halal.

BPJPH believes that by working together, Lampung can achieve full halal compliance before the national deadline. This success could serve as a model for other provinces across the country.

Final Message to Business Owners

If you are a business owner in Lampung who sells food, drinks, snacks, or similar products, now is the right time to act. The halal certification deadline is getting closer, but the process has never been easier.

With:

  • Free certification slots

  • Local help available

  • Simple steps

  • Faster approvals

…you can get certified quickly and grow your business with more confidence.

BPJPH is not just asking businesses to follow the law — it is offering real help. This includes free certification, step-by-step guidance, and support from local leaders. The goal is to help every small business in Lampung succeed and grow through halal certification.

With a little effort now, business owners can enjoy long-term success, trust from customers, and access to bigger markets.
