Malaysia is preparing to host the largest-ever Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) in 2025, reflecting the country’s leadership role in the global halal economy. Scheduled from September 17 to 20, 2025, the event will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. This year’s showcase is set to break previous records, underlining Malaysia’s ambition to remain at the forefront of the expanding halal industry.
Unprecedented Scale and Participation
MIHAS 2025 is expected to feature over 2,300 booths from 45 countries, surpassing the 2,028 booths hosted last year. Organizers are also anticipating more than 45,000 trade visitors, making it the most widely attended edition in MIHAS history. Since its inception in 2004, the exhibition has grown from 17,000 visitors to a global gathering point for halal industry players, investors, and policymakers.
This milestone reflects both Malaysia’s strong position in halal exports and the growing international demand for halal-certified products and services.
A Broader Focus Beyond Food
While halal food remains at the core of MIHAS, the exhibition has evolved into a comprehensive showcase of the wider halal lifestyle. Key sectors represented this year will include:
Food and Beverages
Halal Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics
Modest Fashion and Islamic Lifestyle Products
Islamic Finance and Fintech
Medical Devices and Healthcare
Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality
In 2024, MIHAS facilitated halal-related sales worth over RM4.3 billion, proving its importance as a driver of Malaysia’s trade performance and as a bridge connecting international buyers with Malaysian businesses.
Innovation and Digital Transformation
The theme of MIHAS 2025, “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence,” emphasizes innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. A key highlight will be the Knowledge Hub, where experts and industry leaders will discuss emerging trends, halal certification standards, and investment opportunities.
The event will also integrate the MADANI Digital Trade Platform, an advanced matchmaking and analytics system that connects local exporters with international buyers, making the sourcing process more efficient and data-driven.
Boosting ASEAN Leadership and Global Cooperation
The showcase holds added significance as it coincides with Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair in 2025. This positions MIHAS as a key platform to strengthen regional cooperation in halal trade, harmonize standards, and encourage inclusive and sustainable growth across Southeast Asia.
By championing halal diplomacy and business networking, Malaysia is ensuring that the halal industry continues to thrive not just within its borders but across the region and globally.
Why MIHAS Matters
For Businesses: MIHAS provides a one-stop platform to showcase products, form partnerships, and expand global market reach.
For the Economy: The event reinforces Malaysia’s position as the world’s halal hub and stimulates trade and investment.
For Consumers: It ensures that halal-certified products remain accessible, innovative, and aligned with Islamic principles.
A Global Outlook
With rising consumer demand for ethical, safe, and high-quality halal products, MIHAS 2025 is expected to set new benchmarks for the global halal industry. It will not only highlight Malaysia’s strengths but also open new opportunities for global collaboration in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the world economy.
