Marrybrown Halal Fast Food Chain Expands Its Wings to Cambodia and Uzbekistan

Marrybrown Spreading Its Wings to Cambodia, Uzbekistan
2024-05-03 by Aamer Yaqub

Marrybrown, a leading Malaysian halal-certified fast food chain, is poised for significant international growth with plans to launch new outlets in Cambodia and Uzbekistan later this year. David Liew, the Chief Financial Officer of Marrybrown Sdn Bhd, highlighted the strategic expansion as a testament to the brand’s strengthening global presence. “Marrybrown Spreading Its Wings to Cambodia, Uzbekistan” reflects the company’s ambition to capture new markets and broaden its international footprint.

“Our goal is to extend our diverse menu offerings not just locally but across the global stage,” David Liew remarked during the ‘Keindahan Raya Bersama Marrybrown’ event held at the company’s headquarters in Johor Bahru. The move aligns with Marrybrown’s objective to connect with international communities through quality food and vibrant culinary experiences.

The expansion announcement coincides with Marrybrown’s introduction of five additional locations within Malaysia itself, spread across Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Terengganu, Pahang, and Selangor. This development complements the recent openings in Lahad Datu, Sabah, and Melbourne, Australia, pushing the franchise’s total to over 500 outlets worldwide, including existing operations in Singapore, the Maldives, Sweden, and India.

Founded by Datuk Lawrence Liew and Datin Nancy Liew, Marrybrown has become synonymous with festive celebrations and community engagement. The ‘Keindahan Raya Bersama Marrybrown’ programme, aligned with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, is one such initiative that underscores the brand’s commitment to societal values. This year’s event was marked by joyous celebrations with staff and outreach to over 50 children from various care centres, including Pusat Asuhan Kanak-Kanak Sari Saujana, Rumah Perlindungan Fitrah Qaseh, and Bengkel Terlindung Sekolah Pendidikan Khas Nur Azalea.

Amidst the festive period of Ramadan and Syawal, Marrybrown also distributed 20,000 servings of bubur lambuk and 20,000 chicken burgers nationwide. The initiative extended to providing donations to orphans and economically disadvantaged groups, enhancing the brand’s role in community support and engagement.

Expressing gratitude towards the continuous support from Malaysians, David Liew affirmed, “We are immensely thankful for the loyalty and affection shown towards Marrybrown. We remain dedicated to delivering high-quality, enjoyable meals and celebrating meaningful moments with our patrons.”

The choice of new markets like Cambodia and Uzbekistan reflects Marrybrown’s strategic approach to tapping into emerging economies where the demand for halal-certified food is on the rise. This decision is backed by extensive market research and the recognition of a growing consumer base that values the quality and ethical standards upheld by halal certification.

Marrybrown’s menu diversity, which includes a mix of traditional Malaysian flavours along with popular fast food options, positions the brand uniquely in the fast food industry. By offering a taste of Malaysia infused with a universal appeal, Marrybrown not only caters to the local palate but also attracts a global audience seeking halal food options.

The expansion strategy is underpinned by robust training programs for local staff in new markets, ensuring that the brand’s values and service quality are consistently upheld across all locations. This investment in human resources is part of Marrybrown’s broader commitment to building a sustainable and responsible business that contributes positively to every community it serves.

As Marrybrown expands its footprint globally, it continues to foster a strong connection with its customers by delivering not just food, but an experience enriched with cultural appreciation and community care. “Marrybrown Spreading Its Wings to Cambodia, Uzbekistan” is more than a tagline; it’s a reflection of the brand’s strategic vision to evolve from a local favorite to a global player in the fast food industry. With over three decades in the business, Marrybrown’s journey showcases its resilience and adaptability, thriving in a competitive and ever-changing global landscape.
