In a recent Facebook post, Ammor expressed immense pride in hosting the 2030 World Cup. She highlighted the significance of this global event for Morocco’s tourism sector, stating, “We are ecstatic about this golden opportunity to elevate our destiny.”

The FIFA Executive Committee’s unanimous selection of the Morocco-Spain-Portugal joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup on Wednesday was met with celebrations among Moroccans worldwide. King Mohammed VI hailed the decision as a significant acknowledgment of Morocco’s rising stature in the world of football.
Historically, hosting the World Cup has led to a substantial boost in the tourism industry of host countries. Qatar, for instance, welcomed over 1.4 million visitors during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ammor has consistently emphasized the Ministry’s target of doubling tourist arrivals by 2030. Recent data from the tourism ministry revealed that approximately 10.9 million tourists visited Morocco in 2022. Moreover, the country received 10.2 million tourists by the end of the first eight months of 2023, representing a remarkable 49% increase compared to the same period the previous year.
Ammor attributed these impressive results to the appeal of Morocco as a tourist destination and the effectiveness of their efforts in the aviation sector and collaboration with tour operators in key source markets.
